Want to become one of the faces of Unlock Norway?
Norway is known for its breathtaking landscapes, world-class quality of life, and cozy culture. But there are a lot of challenges when it comes to actually living here. That’s where we come in! If you join the Unlock Norway content creation team, your job would be to break down Norway’s quirks, debunk common myths, and share real, useful advice for internationals living here or planning to move.
Unlock Norway is growing, and we’re looking for two video creators to join the team. If you love making short-form content, sharing your experiences of life in Norway, and helping newcomers navigate life here, we’d love to hear from you!
This is a freelance, paid role, and we’ll also keep applications on file for future opportunities as we continue expanding.
We’re looking for someone to:
Create 1-3 short-form videos or pieces of content per month (Reels, TikToks, carousels) about:
Life in Norway as a newcomer / immigrant
Travel tips and hidden gems
Cultural insights and everyday experiences
Practical advice for moving and settling in Norway
This role would include end-to-end content creation:
Brainstorm fresh, engaging content ideas with strong hooks that speak directly to internationals in Norway.
Research and write scripts or draft content that’s informative, concise, and engaging.
Self-shoot high-quality videos or photos, making sure they’re visually engaging and on-brand.
Edit videos or create carousels using social media best practices (optional: lower fee if sending raw materials).
Take feedback to continuously refine and improve content.
Join a monthly content brainstorming session to stay in the loop.
About you:
Comfortable on camera and confident filming in public.
Understand social media trends and how to make engaging, shareable videos.
Curious and eager to learn, with a creative mindset.
Able to record high-quality video, audio, and photo on your own device.
Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Pro, etc.)—not required, but preferred.
Familiar with Unlock Norway’s style and previous content (engaging, informative, personable).
Can bring humor, authenticity, and personality while keeping content educational and useful.
Understand the needs of newcomers and passionate about improving the international experience in Norway.
Based in Norway (fully remote role).
Open to feedback and comfortable adjusting content based on input.
Able to send invoices (as a registered freelancer or hobby business).
You do not need:
To have lived in Norway for a specific amount of time, just be ready to share your unique perspective!
To speak Norwegian.
To have an established social media following. We’re open to new creators.

Flexible work. Set your own schedule and work from anywhere in Norway, as long as deadlines are met.
Compensation:
1,000 NOK (one thousand Norwegian kroner) per fully edited, ready-to-post video (open for negotiation depending on experience level).
Or a smaller fee for unedited raw footage (open to discussion).

Links to previous content work that you’re proud of (can be created specifically for this application or for a separate project)
Three video ideas you’d like to create for Unlock Norway that showcase your unique perspective (e.g. are you a long-time immigrant or newcomer?).
Application deadline: 30 April (FYI we’ll be screening applications upon receipt, so we recommend submitting earlier rather than later).
